Series “#OOTD” – Sermon #5  “Divine Peace”

Ephesians 6:10-13 (TPT) “Now my beloved ones, I have saved these most important truths for last: Be supernaturally infused with strength through your life-union with the Lord Jesus. Stand victorious with the force of his explosive power flowing in and through you.

Watchman Nee (Sit Walk Stand). “For our part, we need not struggle to occupy ground that is already ours. In Christ we are conquerors, nay, “more than conquerors” (Rom. 8: 37). In Him, therefore, we stand. Thus, today we do not fight for victory; we fight from victory.

We do not fight in order to win, but because in Christ we have already won. Overcomers are those who rest in the victory already given to them by their God. When you fight to get the victory, then you have lost the battle at the very outset.”

Ephesians 6:14 (TPT) “Put on truth as a belt to strengthen you to stand in triumph.,…”

Ephesians 6:15 (NLT) “For shoes, (having NKJV) put on the peace that comes from the Good News so that you will be fully prepared.”

Ephesians 6:15 (AMP) “Above all, lift up the [protective] shield of faith with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one.”

Notice the different tense:

First three pieces of armour:  “Having put on”

Second three pieces of armour:   “Above all lift up”

The first three are armour that you establish yourself in continually.

The Roman Battle (Door) Shield:

It was to be both strong and light.

It was made of wood, seven layers of ox hide and metal studs.

It was 2 1/2 ft wide and 4 ft long.

It was cared for daily — rubbed with special oil to keep it fresh and durable and then soaked with water. Especially saturated for battle.

Hebrews 11:1 (Darby) “Now faith is [the] substantiating of things hoped for, [the] conviction of things not seen.”

(CEV) “Faith makes us sure of what we hope for and gives us proof of what we cannot see.”

Every flaming missile from the enemy is to get you to stop trusting GOD.

An attack on His character or an accusation concerning your poor performance.

When do you need faith in God most?   When you screw up.

Genesis 15:1 “After these things the word of the Lord came to Abram in a vision, saying, ‘Do not be afraid, Abram. I am your shield, your exceedingly great reward.’”

Psalm 119:114 “You are my hiding place and my shield; I hope in Your word.”

Psalm 91:4 (NIV) “He will cover you with his feathers, and under his wings you will find refuge; his faithfulness will be your shield and rampart.”

Its not about storing up enough faith and then trading it for what you desire.

NO!!! Our faith is not in faith.

The object of our faith is a Loving God who is the source of every good thing.

Luke 17:5-6  Message  “The apostles came up and said to the Master, ‘Give us more faith.’ But the Master said, ‘You don’t need more faith. There is no ‘more’ or ‘less’ in faith. If you have a bare kernel of faith, say the size of a poppy seed, you could say to this sycamore tree, ‘Go jump in the lake,’ and it would do it.”’”

4 Basics Of Faith:

1. Faith Is A LAW. Romans 3:27 “…but by the law of faith.”

2. Faith Is A Gift.  Mark 11:22   “Have (the) faith in (of) God.”

3. Faith Comes By Hearing Word. Romans 10:17 “faith comes by hearing”

4. Works By Believing & Confessing  Romans 10:9 “…believe heart … confess mouth…”

Romans 12:3  “God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith.”

“To have faith we must immerse ourselves in the Scriptures. And faith must be exercised to be effective. Faith like a muscle grows by stretching.” A. W. Tozer

1 John 5:4 (ESV) “For everyone who has been born of God overcomes the world. And this is the victory that has overcome the world – our faith.”

(NLT) “For every child of God defeats this evil world, and we achieve this victory through our faith.”

Psalm 64:3  “Who sharpen their tongue like a sword, And bend their bows to shoot their arrows—bitter words,”

Sadly the arrows sometimes come from people close to you.

Jesus and Peter “Get behind me satan”

Psalm 55:12-14 “For it is not an enemy who reproaches me; Then I could bear it. … But it was you, a man my equal, My companion and my acquaintance. We took sweet counsel together, And walked to the house of God in the throng.”

Luke 8:24-25 “And they came to Him and awoke Him, saying, ‘Master, Master, we are perishing!’ Then He arose and rebuked the wind and the raging of the water. And they ceased, and there was a calm. But He said to them, ‘Where is your faith?’”

Accused Him of LACK!

Luke 18:42 “Then Jesus said to him, ‘Receive your sight; your faith has made you well.’”

He lifted faith:  above his circumstances – above the religious system – above the crowd -above his self worth

Two gentiles came to Jesus with GREAT FAITH:

Faith of Centurion: “Great”:– (tos-oo’-tos) of quantity, so much, so large.

Gentile Woman’s Faith: “Great”:– (meg’-as) excellent, mighty, abundant, violent, intense, off the chart

Matthew 15:21-28 “‘O woman, great is your faith! Let it be to you as you desire.’ And her daughter was healed from that very hour.”

(Message) “…your faith is something else. What you want is what you get!”

Releasing Your Faith:

1. Passionate – She cried out. This must change!

2. Knowledgable – Son of DAVID.  Informed

3. Resilient – Not going to get offended.

4. Extreme“…dogs eat crumbs.”   NO DELAY

Unconventional, pioneering, innovative, cutting-edge, radical, breakthrough!!!!

5. Rewarded “As you desire.”

Ephesians 6:15 (AMP) “Above all, lift up the [protective] shield of faith with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one.”
