Christmas / The Incarnation — God becomes one with His creation. Jesus:— God Saves

It gets so noisy. We can allow the precious to become common and familiar.

Matthew 1:1, 5-6, 16  “The book of the genealogy of Jesus Christ, … Judah begot Perez and Zerah by Tamar…  Salmon begot Boaz by Rahab,. … Joseph the husband of Mary, of whom was born Jesus who is called Christ.”

A girl involved in incest.

A hooker who ran a brothel.

A pagan idol worshipper.

An adulteress who’s boyfriend killed her husband.

A teen girl pregnant and unmarried. 

Luke 1:26-38 “Now in the sixth month the angel Gabriel was sent by God to a city of Galilee named Nazareth, to a virgin betrothed to a man whose name was Joseph, of the house of David. The virgin’s name was Mary.  And having come in, the angel said to her, ‘Rejoice, highly favored one, the Lord is with you; blessed are you among women!’

But when she saw him, she was troubled at his saying, and considered what manner of greeting this was.  Then the angel said to her, ‘Do not be afraid, Mary, for you have found favor with God.  And behold, you will conceive in your womb and bring forth a Son, and shall call His name Jesus. 

He will be great, and will be called the Son of the Highest; and the Lord God will give Him the throne of His father David.  And He will reign over the house of Jacob forever, and of His kingdom there will be no end.’ Then Mary said to the angel, ‘How can this be, since I do not know a man?’

And the angel answered and said to her, “The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Highest will overshadow you; therefore, also, that Holy One who is to be born will be called the Son of God. Now indeed, Elizabeth your relative has also conceived a son in her old age; 

and this is now the sixth month for her who was called barren. For with God nothing will be impossible.’ Then Mary said, ‘Behold the maidservant of the Lord! Let it be to me according to your word.’ And the angel departed from her.

Luke 1:44-45 “For indeed, as soon as the voice of your greeting sounded in my ears, the babe leaped in my womb for joy. Blessed is she who believed, for there will be a fulfillment of those things which were told her from the Lord.”

1. Miraculous Announcement

“For with God nothing (Rhema) will be impossible.”

No word from God is without power.

There is nothing to hard for God Nothing is to hard for YOU.

Mark 9:23 “Jesus said to him, ‘If you can believe, all things are possible to him who believes.’” 

2. Miraculous Assignment

“…the power of the Highest will overshadow you; therefore, also, that Holy One who is to be born will be called the Son of God.”

Matthew 1:21 “And she will bring forth a Son, and you shall call His name Jesus, for He will save His people from their sins.”   Reconcile mankind to the Father.

Romans 8:18 “For the earnest expectation of the creation eagerly waits for the revealing of the sons of God.”

Colossians 1:27  “Christ in you the hope of Glory.”

Acts 1:8 “But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.”

3. Miraculous Acceptance 

“Behold the maidservant of the Lord! Let it be to me according to your word.”

I surrender everything to you!   Hopes / Dreams / Reputation / Future

Acts 1:14 “These all continued with one accord … and Mary the mother of Jesus,…”

Mary carried the the anointed one to full term … birth and nurtured. 

Now she says yes to carrying the Anointed One again.

Acts 2:3-4  “Then there appeared to them divided tongues, as of fire, and one sat upon each of them. And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.”

At Christmas the volume gets turned up! 

Jesus met the pain head on!

God wants to do the impossible through you! 

Mark 16:20  (NLT)  “And the disciples went everywhere and preached, and the Lord worked through them, confirming what they said by many miraculous signs.”
