Palm Sunday — Carrying The Glory

The devout cowboy lost his favorite Bible while he was mending fences out on the range. Three weeks later, a donkey walked up to him carrying the Bible in its mouth. The cowboy couldn’t believe his eyes. He took the precious book out of the donkey’s mouth, raised his eyes heavenward and exclaimed, “It’s a miracle!” “Not really,” said the donkey. “Your name is written inside the cover.” 

Front Seat A policeman in the big city stops a man in a car with a donkey in the front seat. “What are you doing with that donkey?” He exclaimed, “You should take it to the zoo.” The following week, the same policeman sees the same man with the donkey again in the front seat, with both of them wearing sunglasses. The policeman pulls him over. “I thought you were going to take that donkey to the zoo!” The man replied, “I did. We had such a good time we are going to the beach this weekend!” 

Matthew 21:1-11  “Tell the daughter of Zion, ‘Behold, your King is coming to you, Lowly, and sitting on a donkey, A colt, the foal of a donkey.’ … very great multitude … ‘Hosanna (save us now) to the Son of David!”

The beginning of passion week. 

Jesus head on collision with religion.

Begins with crowd singing Hosanna. 

Four days later, “crucify him!” 

Seventh day He’ll rise from the dead. 

The feast of Passover:

Today they brought the sacrifice for inspection.

Today they got rid of the leaven.

Today Jesus came for inspection.

Today He cleansed His temple.

Today He begins His final approach to secure FREEDOM FOR ALL!

Exodus 12:3  (First Passover) “…every man shall take for himself a lamb,… a lamb for a household.” 

John 1:29 “Behold! The Lamb of God who takes away the  sin of the world!”

Luke 12:1 “Beware of the leaven of the Pharisees, which is hypocrisy.”

Galatians 5:8-10 “This persuasion does not come from Him who calls you. A little leaven leavens the whole lump. I have confidence in you, in the Lord, that you will have no other mind; but he who troubles you shall bear his judgment, whoever he is.”

Matthew  21:12-17  “Then Jesus went into the temple of God and drove out all those who bought and sold …Then the blind and the lame came to Him in the temple, and He healed them.”

Matthew 21:2-3 “…you will find a donkey tied, and a colt with her. Loose them and bring them to Me.  And if anyone says anything to you, you shall say, ‘The Lord has need of them,’”

Donkeys have a cross in the middle of their backs. Set apart form this special job.

Glove is designed to be animated by a hand. We were created to be animated by God!

Genesis 1:27  “So God created man in His own image;…”

2 Corinthians 4:7  “But we have this treasure in jars of clay to show that this all-surpassing power is from God and not from us.” 

We were created to be dispensers of God’s Glory. Earth is groaning for a manifestation of the Sons Of God!

1. You’ve Been Chosen

John 15:16  “You did not choose Me, but I chose you and appointed you that you should go and bear fruit, and that your fruit should remain, that whatever you ask the Father in My name He may give you.”

2. You’ve Been Set Free

John 8:36  “Therefore if the Son makes you free, you shall be free indeed.”

3. You’ve Been Set Apart  

Ephesians 2:10 “For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them.”

4. You’ve Been Equipped

Luke 24:49 “I am going to send you what my Father has promised; but stay in the city until you have been clothed with power from on high.”

5. You’ve Been Engaged

2 Corinthians 2:14 “Now thanks be to God who always leads us in triumph in Christ, and through us diffuses the fragrance of His knowledge in every place.”

1 John 2:27 (AMP)  “But as for you, the anointing (the sacred appointment, the unction) which you received from Him abides [permanently] in you;”
