Day 7 of 10 Days of Prayer

Day 7 of 10 Days of Prayer
By: Tim Godfrey

As Christians we are encouraged to pray together.  The Book of Acts shows us how important corporate prayer was to the early church.

Acts 1:13-14, The church was praying together as they waited for the day of Pentecost and the outpouring of the Holy Spirit.

Acts 4 relates the story of John and Peter being arrested.  They spend a night in prison and told not to speak or teach in the name of Jesus.  On their release they go to the other believers, and report all that took place.
Verse 24 says, when they heard this, they raised their voices together in prayer.
The result: verse 31,Place where they were meeting was shaken. They were all filled with Holy Spirit and spoke word of God boldly.

Acts 12: Peter is in prison.  Verse 5 says the church was earnestly praying for him. Verse 12 says many people were gathered and praying. The Result: An angel escorted Peter out of prison.

In Acts 13 we see the church at Antioch was praying when God called Paul and Barnabas to the mission field.

We learn from these passages that when the church prays together the miraculous happens. I am so grateful that I am part of a community of believers with whom I can regularly pray and experience God doing the miraculous.

Pray:
Lord I believe you are the God of Miracles. Give us a heart of expectation and an attitude of faith that says God can, God is able, God is willing.
Lord we are believing for miracles in our finances, our relationships, our physical bodies, our jobs and family. Lord we accept your supernatural working in our lives, our church and community. In Jesus name.

Heavenly Father I pray for Pastors Karl and Cheryl, for Pastors Bobbie and Sheryl and for Pastor Tim. May they be anointed with power and authority from on high. I pray for all the elders in all three churches as well. I pray for the deacons & volunteers. I pray for the worship teams. Let there be a move of God so strong this Sunday that it will be felt by all who attend and all who watch by media.

Right on Pastor Tim. As I have gone thru many tribulations in my personal life, I came to understand what God says in his word : 2nd Corinthians 13:2, and what it spoke to me about, that God always provided a way out of any situation. It was God’s faith that had me believe in the Power of a Praying church. I now have a history of depending on God and seeing him come through miraculously many times.

Therefore, it is not a stretch for me to anticipate the miraculous when a combined group of churches comes to God in one accord.

We declare that faith-filled declarations of God’s word in confident prayers will have a powerful affect on the world around us! We partner with our Father in the working of miracles! Let signs and wonders truly follow the declaration of His word. Stop telling God about your problems – start telling your problems about our miracle-working God!
