Day 4 of 10 Days of Prayer
Day 4 of 10 Days of Prayer
By: Pastor D. Karl Thomas
Praying For The Harvest!
Today I am encouraging you with a few quotes I’ve gathered on praying for the harvest.
We can do more than pray for the lost. But, only after we have prayed for the lost. A genuine vision of ETERNITY will include your neighbor.
John 4:34-35 (The Message)
“Jesus said, “The food that keeps me going is that I do the will of the One who sent me, finishing the work he started. As you look around right now, wouldn’t you say that in about four months it will be time to harvest? Well, I’m telling you to open your eyes and take a good look at what’s right in front of you. These Samaritan fields are ripe. It’s harvest time!”
2 Peter 3:9
“The Lord is not slack concerning His promise, as some count slackness, but is longsuffering toward us, not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance.”
“Your will be done, Your Kingdom come.”
EVERYTHING vital to the success of the world’s evangelization hinges on prayer. John R Mott
The Son of God had five thousand when He was feeding them with the loaves and fishes, He had a multitude when He was opening the eyes of the blind, but when He was sweating the death sweat for a lost world, He was alone. Charles Stalker
A secularized or self-centered church can never evangelize the world. John R Mott
It is possible to evangelize the world in this generation, if the church will but do her duty. The trouble is NOT with the heathen. A dead church will prevent it, if it is prevented. John Griffeth
If we don’t pray, we serve no purpose in God’s framework of eternity. Charles Stanley
My own conversion is the result of prayer; long, affectionate, earnest, and importunate. Parents prayed for me; God heard their cries, and here I am to preach the Gospel. Charles H. Spurgeon
God has no greater controversy with His people today than this, that with boundless promises to believing prayer, there are so few who actually give themselves unto intercession A.T. Pierson
Perhaps there are no conversions in our churches because we have not seen how impossible it is for the non-Christian mind to believe. It is only when God opens their hearts to understand the message of Christ that they can accept Him. Hearts will be made receptive only as we pray.
Hearts are prepared to receive the message of Christ through prayer. The gospel is eternal and spiritual in nature. Man in his natural, fallen state cannot comprehend such a message; it is foreign to his natural state of being. Therefore, we must pray that their spiritual eyes be opened. Sammy Tippit
God alone can save the world, but God cannot save the world alone. God and man unite for the task, the response of the divine being invariably in proportion to the desire and the effort of the human. This cooperation, then, being necessary, what is the duty which we, as co-workers with God, are required to undertake? First of all, and most important of all – the point which we desire particularly to emphasize – we must give ourselves to prayer. E.M. Bounds
Some have zealously used truth to convert men, and laid very little stress on prayer. They have preached, and talked, and distributed tracts with great zeal, and then wondered that they had so little success. And the reason was that they forgot to use the other branch of the means, effectual prayer. They overlooked the fact that truth, by itself, will never produce the effect, without the Spirit of God, and that the Spirit is given in answer to prayer. Charles Finney
Whether we like it or not, asking is the rule of the Kingdom. If you may have everything by asking in His name and nothing without asking, I beg you to see how absolutely vital prayer is. Charles Spurgeon
The heart of God hungers to redeem the world. For that He placed in human hands the mightiest of all forces-prayer, that we might become partners with Him….There is no thing we need so much as to learn to pray.
The greatest thing anyone can do for God and man is to pray. It is not the only thing. But is the chief thing….you can do more than pray, after you have prayed. But you can not do more than pray until you have prayed. S.D Gordon
Intercessory prayer is the Christian’s most effective weapon. Nothing can withstand its power. It will do things when all else has failed. And the marvel is that we turn to other agencies in order to accomplish what only prayer can bring to pass. God has placed this mighty weapon in our hands, and He expects us to use it. How disappointed He must be when we lay aside and substitute natural means for supernatural work. Oswald J. Smith
If sinners be damned, at least let them leap to Hell over our bodies. If they will perish let them perish with our arms about their knees. Let no one go there UNWARNED and UNPRAYED for. Charles Spurgeon

2 Peter 3:9
And then he told them, “Go into all the world and preach the Good News to everyone.
Mark 16:15
How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? and how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? and how shall they hear without a preacher? And how shall they preach, except they be sent? as it is written, How beautiful are the feet of them that preach the gospel of peace, and bring glad tidings of good things!
Romans 10:14-15
It is your will that all come to the knowledge of saving grace. Let your will be done. You have blessed us with the responsibility of partnering with you in the reconciliation of all things to yourself. For the lost to respond to the good news we must manifest and proclaim it. Grant us the boldness to express your great love. Flood our hearts with compassion for the lost and hurting. Use me today to share your love with others. Grant divine appointments in Jesus Name! Amen
Father, please give us harvesters’ hearts and harvesters’ ways. Through us, may your Holy Spirit draw many to Jesus. May your Kingdom come. We ASK. Amen.
Praying for harvest. Praying for lost souls. Praying that friends, family, neighbours, and people throughout the city will have a real encounter with the Living God, that they will come to know the love of Jesus, the presence of the Holy Spirit, and the grace of their Heavenly Father, this day.
Mark 11:24 – For this reason I am telling you, whatever things you ask for in prayer [in accordance with God’s will], believe [with confident trust] that you have received them, and they will be given to you.
Psa 2:8 -‘Ask of Me, and I will assuredly give [You] the nations as Your inheritance, And the ends of the earth as Your possession.
Father, we know your desire is that none will be lost and all will know the joy of salvation through Jesus. We know when we call out for the salvation of our families, friends, co-workers and even those who are now strangers to us we are praying according to your will. This is our declaration today! Open our eyes and our hearts to be in readiness to pray and act in your love that all those around us will see Jesus through us and be drawn by His goodness into deep relationship with you. We declare this year will be marked with amazing increase through salvation in the Name of Jesus!
We say amen to the comment Stefan made, especially that people will have a real encounter with the Living God. So true. He finds us where we are…we don’t have to “gussy” ourselves up before we reach out to Him. He is always ready to receive us into his arms. I (Deborah) remember how kindly I was treated when I was a new Christian ,,,I was considered worth the time invested into me as I grew. Let us now be His arms outreached to others. 1 Thess 2:7-8AMP But we behaved gently when we were among you, like a devoted mother tenderly caring for her own children. Having such a deep affection for you, we were delighted to share with you not only God’s good news but also our own lives, because you had become so very dear to us.
We do pray that more people will be encouraged to take part in the discipleship team at Impact Church.
Give us a heart Lord to pray for the lost, the backslider, and those who are struggling in the body.
Lord, we are believing for more souls this year than we have ever seen. Let a great harvest begin and let it begin with us as we pray for the lost to be illuminated with the truth. Holy Spirit, breathe on people and let them know the goodness of God. Lord, we lift up our loved ones who don’t know you. We don’t want to grow weary in praying for them but give us a fresh vision and renewed faith for their salvation. Do something great this year!
Lord, we ask you that you put a desire to help our discleship program in the heart of our people. We ask you that you bring those who have the time and heart to help.
We ask you that you convinced to help those who doubt about it, you let them know they are completely capable to help and that you will be their guidance.
We also ask you for a new strategy to bring more people if our current way of calling them is not working.
“And I said, ‘Who are you, Lord?’ And the Lord said, ‘I am Jesus whom you are persecuting. But rise and stand upon your feet, for I have appeared to you for this purpose, to appoint you as a servant and witness to the things in which you have seen me and to those in which I will appear to you,”
Acts 26:15-16 ESV
Thank you Lord for the opportunity to partner with you in the ministry of reconciliation. Help us embrace this opportunity, and help us deeply desire to share your goodness with others. We ask for the nations, we ask for this nation, for southwestern Ontario. Father we ask for labourers, and we ask that those in our lives and region who need the power of God To open their eyes to who you are, in the way that only you can do, that each one would experience this enlightening in Jesus name. Let the light of the glory of God in the face of Jesus shine in the hearts of those yet to know you in southwestern Ontario. In Jesus name!
I’ve been praying for my family, friends, and neighbours tonight. I’ll be praying the other directives too. I’m praying to The One who is Mighty To Save.
Praise God! I come into agreement with the prayer teachings for each of day 1 through 4; every prayer directive; and each prayer posted by my brothers and sisters in the faith. Thank you, Lord, for the spirit of truth and love that shines through each one of your faithful followers, and I ask that you multiply each prayer that rises up from this 10 days of prayer. We know that your word does not return void, and I thank you for a bible-believing church that engages both your word and your spirit in our asking; that we can boldly ask in the name of Jesus because we know what your perfect will is by the revelation gifts of the Holy Spirit and the countless promises you have declared in your word.
Tonight I pray psalm 91 over the hearts and lives of all believers, but especially for those new in their Christian walk. Father, protect them; rescue them from all schemes of darkness and cover them completely in your goodness and grace. Shield them such that any arrows would fall dead beside them, and remove all fear from them. Surround them with the nourishment they need to grow into the sons and daughters you created them to be. Guard the seed of truth sown in their hearts, and accelerate its growth so that it cannot be blown away or stolen but will instead take deep roots. Lead them to reach out to others in their spiritual family and build lasting connections. May these changed lives bear witness to your love and your transforming power and continue to exponentially reach those around them, drawing more and more precious souls into your loving arms; your unwavering fortress.
In Jesus’ name, amen!
