Are You A Hear Or A Hear Not?
Jeremiah 29:11 “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”
Jewish calendar year 5774 began September 4th its a leap year on their calendar … year of promotion
70 “ayin” means – eye; to see, and by extension, to understand and obey. It also means “Divine Providence”.
4 “Dalet” is the picture of a hanging tent door. The door, dalet, also can mean the movement of one coming from or going into the tent. As is the case with every word, we can interpret negatively or positively. During dalet, one will either move (1) out of or (2) back into their tent. Will you choose to vacate places of confinement or will you choose to retreat into the tent of isolation?
Revelation 3:8 “See, I have set before you an open door, and no one can shut it;”
“Heaven is full of answers for which no one ever bothered to ask.” Billy Graham
“The great tragedy of life is not unanswered prayer, but unoffered prayer.” F. B. Myer
- God is good at delegation. He has given man responsibility for the affairs of earth. He won’t interfere unless He is invited.
- Genesis 1:26 (AMP) “…let them have complete authority …over all of the earth,…”
- Psalm 115:16 “The heaven, even the heavens, are the Lord’s; But the earth He has given to the children of men.”
- Psalm 8:6 “You have made him to have dominion over the works of Your hands; You have put all things under his feet,…”
- Mark 4:24 “And He said to them, Be careful what you are hearing. The measure [of thought and study] you give [to the truth you hear] will be the measure [of virtue and knowledge] that comes back to you—and more [besides] will be given to you who hear.”
- Romans 1:17 “The just shall live by faith.”
- 2 Corinthians 5:7 “For we walk by faith, not by sight (senses).”
- Romans 10:17 “So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.”
It is a faith walk … your walk is determined by your quality of hearing … Hears and hear nots
Luke 2:25-32
25 And behold, there was a man in Jerusalem whose name was Simeon, and this man was just and devout, waiting for the Consolation of Israel, and the Holy Spirit was upon him. 26 And it had been revealed to him by the Holy Spirit that he would not see death before he had seen the Lord’s Christ. 27 So he came by the Spirit into the temple. And when the parents brought in the Child Jesus, to do for Him according to the custom of the law, 28 he took Him up in his arms and blessed God and said: 29 “Lord, now You are letting Your servant depart in peace, According to Your word;30 For my eyes have seen Your salvation 31 Which You have prepared before the face of all peoples, 32 A light to bring revelation to the Gentiles, And the glory of Your people Israel.”
“Simeon”:– harkening, able to hear.
During the noise of his day he was able to tune into the frequency of Holy Spirit and he was in the right place at the right time.
SOMEONE IN EVERY GENERATION IS HEARING AND DECLARING THE PURPOSES OF GOD INTO THE EARTH … EVEN FOR JESUS TO COME THERE HAD TO BE A COMMUNITY THAT CONFESSED THIS!!!
How is this generation hearing?
3 Hindrances To Hearing
- DOUBT
James 1:6-7 “But let him ask in faith, with no doubting, for he who doubts is like a wave of the sea driven and tossed by the wind. For let not that man suppose that he will receive anything from the Lord;” - FEAR
Mark 5:35-36 “Your daughter is dead. Why trouble the Teacher any further?” As soon as Jesus heard the word that was spoken, He said to the ruler of the synagogue, “Do not be afraid; only believe.” - UNBELIEF
Hebrews 3:16, 19, 4:2 “For who, having heard, rebelled? … So we see that they could not enter in because of unbelief … but the word which they heard did not profit them, not being mixed with faith in those who heard it.”
Basic Hearing Requirements
- Truth “just and devout” (25) Lay hold of well … He had embraced the truth well … working knowledge
- Intimacy “Holy Spirit upon” (25) Relationship with God tight with Holy Spirit
- Available “waiting for” (25) Waiting … people who wait are strong … people who wait are readyACTS FOR
- Dependant “by the Spirit” (27) Do everything in His power … go in His strength!!
- Obedient “he took Him up” (28) Haven’t really heard until you manifest obedience …
“I Know That!!” WELL … IF YOU KNEW IT YOU WOULD DO IT!!!
What does 2014 look like for you?
Jeremiah 29:11 “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”
You must speakHis plans into existence … therefore you must be someone who HEARS WELL!!! Gods promises must be activated by bold faith confessions.

Our faith (in what God has said) is doubtless the most impactful element on our spiritual progression. Everything God asks us to do, will require faith to some degree: 1) faith that He said it; 2) faith that we can do it – because it will seem difficult or impossible; 3) faith that He will help us. Jesus said that His sheep hear His voice. Sometimes we don’t believe we are hearing Him, or don’t recognize that it is Him speaking to our spirits. Once we deal with that issue by casting aside doubt & unbelief, we can begin to embrace what He says, and allow our life to be directed it. I want to be a hearer first, but it’s equally important to be a doer after I have heard. James 1:22-25 To hear and then not to do would be to walk in deception, better to not have heard. But blessing follows all that we do, IF we hear, AND we do what we have heard. Father let us, ( ALL of Your children) hear what you have created ours ears to hear. And help us Holy Spirit to respond appropriately to what we hear. Help us to do the stuff You have called us to do in community and in our spheres of influence.
Let your presence and anointing be manifest tonight in our prayer time before you. Come in a powerful way and speak through your people as they partner with you through intercession. Jesus, be glorified in us.

Lord I pray for more of your presence manifest in my life for this year. I pray for more of your presence in all of us today, in tonight’s prayer meeting and throughout 2014. God we need ears to hear and eyes to see more of who you are and hear more of your plans, plans to prosper us and not to harm us, plans to give us a hope and a future. Help us see that you’re better than that (anything we can ask or even imagine). Manifest your divine purpose for your glory in our lives….how awesome your awesome is!! In Jesus’ name Amen

Since I listened to what God was telling me my life has improved greatly. The past 14 months have been amazing. Sure, I have had obstacles to overcome, delays hold me back, arguments with people, but, God has brought me through these situations unscathed, and, I feel stronger for it. When you cry out for a new life you have be willing to let your old one fall away. Thank you to those at Impact who have helped me along the way. Am very excited to see where my God and I go in 2014. My thoughts this morning led me to 1 Peter 3: 13 – 18, “Now who will harm you if you are eager to do what is good? But even if you do suffer for doing what is right, you are blessed. Do not fear what they fear, and do not be intimidated, but in your hearts sanctify Christ as Lord. Always be ready to make your defence to anyone who demands from you an account of the hope that is in you, yet do it with gentleness and reverance. Keep your conscience clear, so that when you are maligned, those who abuse you for your good conduct in Christ may be put to shame. For it is better to suffer for doing good, if suffering should be God’s will, than to suffer for doing evil.”
