Day 7 of 10 Days of Prayer, Be Confident

Day 7 of 10 Days of Prayer, Be Confident
By: Pastor Karl Thomas

I love how Hezekiah’s expression of confidence motivated the people of God. It’s great that his putting a demand on God’s presence with them resulted in such a great victory.

2 Chronicles 32 7-8, 23
“Be strong and courageous; do not be afraid nor dismayed before the king of Assyria, nor before all the multitude that is with him; for there are more with us than with him. 8 With him is an arm of flesh; but with us is the Lord our God, to help us and to fight our battles.” And the people were strengthened by the words of Hezekiah king of Judah.”

Vs 23 “…so that he was exalted in the sight of all nations thereafter.”

This is one of my favourite verses in Philippians. It reminds me of the phrase: “Never let them see you sweat.”

Philippians 1:28 (NLT) “Don’t be intimidated in any way by your enemies. This will be a sign to them that they are going to be destroyed, but that you are going to be saved, even by God himself.”

2 Timothy 1:7 “For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.”

Power — Dunamis power of God  Love — His Love in our hearts     Self-discipline — Mind of Christ

Psalm 56:4 (AMP)
“By [the help of] God I will praise His word; on God I lean, rely, and confidently put my trust; I will not fear. What can man, who is flesh, do to me?”

I base my confidence on what God says about me and on my knowledge of who He is.

Zechariah 2:8 “…for whoever touches you touches the apple of his eye.”

Psalm 17:8 “Keep me as the apple of Your eye; Hide me under the shadow of Your wings,”

When you look closely into the eyes of God you see my reflection.

Hebrews 10:32-36
“But recall the former days in which, after you were illuminated, you endured a great struggle with sufferings: 33 partly while you were made a spectacle both by reproaches and tribulations, and partly while you became companions of those who were so treated; 34 for you had compassion on me[h] in my chains, and joyfully accepted the plundering of your goods, knowing that you have a better and an enduring possession for yourselves in heaven.[i] 35 Therefore do not cast away your confidence, which has great reward. 36 For you have need of endurance, so that after you have done the will of God, you may receive the promise:

“Therefore do not cast away your confidence, which has great reward.”

4 Qualities Of Confident People:

We declare the reality that there is no good thing that God will withhold from them that love Him, that put their faith and trust in Him. The Lord Himself is a sun and shield to us, and He gives us grace and glory that we might walk in great confidence in who He is, and who we are in Him. Ref Ps 84:11
I thank you Father, that moving forward into this year, there is a greater revelation of the manifestation of your grace and glory on us to demonstrate your goodness, provision, power, and love all around us.

Confidence, Jesus had it, He knew who He was, where He came from and where He was going. We have Christ in us our hope of glory! Therefore, we know who’s we are, we know where we came from and we know where we are going, we are confident!

Well that sounds real good but sometimes I forget. But God doesn’t! That’s why prayer is so important. We can stop our foolishness and talk to Ou Heavenly Father And get the wisdom appropriate for our needs. Thereby restoring our confidence!

So much to say so little space.

Be blessed all and go forth, knowing!

In 2nd Timothy 1, we are encouraged “to stir up the gift of God” which is in us by expressing an absolute and confident trust in the Father’s power, wisdom and goodness. So, we proclaim with authority in Jesus’ name that our confidence is in our God whose power and Spirit resides in us.

Psa 62:8 “Trust in, lean on, rely on, and have confidence in Him at all times, you people; pour out your hearts before Him. God is a refuge for us (a fortress and a high tower). Selah [pause, and calmly think of that]!”

Father let us see every challenge, obstacle or difficulty we encounter as another divine opportunity to stand in confident boldness that you are indeed with us and will provide all that is required to change the atmosphere and even the very facts or the moment to bring forth your solution.
Let your people be known as peacemakers in times of conflict, sources of wisdom that respond to every question and supply that meets every need! In these ways, we will indeed walk as sons and daughters of the most High God and bring glory to our Heavenly Father.
We are not swayed or pushed around by the storms of circumstance but ready to stand up in the winds and speak peace to situations and people around us.

“So let’s do it—full of belief, confident that we’re presentable inside and out. Let’s keep a firm grip on the promises that keep us going. He always keeps his word. Let’s see how inventive we can be in encouraging love and helping out, not avoiding worshiping together as some do but spurring each other on, especially as we see the big Day approaching.” (Hebrews 10:22-25 MSG Bible)

Thank You Father we can confidently come to you, we are presentable inside and out. Let all doubt and insecurity, lack of confidence in approaching you be forever gone in Jesus name. Help us confidently release your creativity and inventiveness, confidently manifesting the unique solutions you have given us and made us to be in Your project of world transformation . Amen!

CONFIDENCE, is a word which we frequently use in everyday language, yet rarely do we stop and think, what is it’s meaning.
Confidence in Psychology definition: is that urging (feeling) by which the mind embarks in great and honorable courses
of action with a sure hope and trust in a successful outcome. Confidence is strongly tied to self esteem.
