By: D. Karl Thomas
Isaiah 45:18 “For thus says the Lord, Who created the heavens, Who is God, Who formed the earth and made it, Who has established it, Who did not create it in vain, Who formed it to be inhabited: ‘I am the Lord, and there is no other.'”
Where the Kingdom is embraced a community of reformers is established to advance his eternal purpose in the earth.
Impact Church “Transforming Lives To Impact Their World.” GLOBAL GLORY!
(John 2:11 “Jesus did this as the first of his miraculous signs, in Cana of Galilee. In this way he revealed his glory, and his disciples believed in him.)
Colonization is the most important component of the Kingdom. Heaven on earth is God’s purpose. Embracing this is the only way to fully grasp the message of God’s Word and the priority of Jesus Christ.
Luke 16:16 “The Law and the Prophets were proclaimed until John. Since that time, the good news of the kingdom of God is being preached, and everyone is forcing their way into it.”
John the Baptist was a law preacher. “If you do God will (LAW) God did now you are (GRACE)
He had a hard time embracing Jesus ministry even though He was the one who declared … “Behold The Lamb Of God!”
John 1:17 “For the law was given through Moses, but grace and truth came through Jesus Christ.”
Jesus touched lepers … Called Tax collectors Children of God … Had women on His ministry team Forgave Sin hadn’t confessed anything Rebuked the religious … Cleared the temple …
Confronted injustice … Embraced the cause of the marginalized THE OUTCAST!!!
Luke 11:20 “But if I drive out the demons by the finger of God, then the kingdom of God has already come upon you.”
Luke 7:18-28 “Go and tell John the things you have seen and heard: that the blind see, the lame walk, the lepers are cleansed, the deaf hear, the dead are raised, …
the poor have the gospel preached to them. And blessed is he who is not offended because of Me. … not a greater prophet than John the Baptist; but he who is least in the kingdom of God is greater than he.” We are in a new and better covenant!
Wayne Grudem — Christian Ethics
“It is important to realize that the author of Hebrews is not saying that some old covenant laws are no longer binding on Christians (such as sacrificial laws or purity laws, for example), …… but that the old covenant itself, that entire system of laws that defined the relationship with God and his people, is no longer in effect.”
Hebrews 8:13 (NLT) “When God speaks of a ‘new’ covenant, it means he has made the first one obsolete. It is now out of date and will soon disappear.”
Luke 4:18-19 “The Spirit of the Lord is upon Me, Because He has anointed Me To preach the gospel to the poor; He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted, …
…To proclaim liberty to the captives And recovery of sight to the blind, To set at liberty those who are oppressed; To proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord.” FREEDOM … IT LOOKS LIKE SOMETHING JUBILEE!!!
Luke 4:43 “…but He said to them, ‘I must preach the kingdom of God to the other cities also, because for this purpose I have been sent.’“
Matthew 9:35 “Then Jesus went about all the cities and villages, teaching in their synagogues, preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing every sickness and every disease among the people.” Hear and See!!
Matthew 10:7-8 “And as you go, preach, saying, ‘The kingdom of heaven is at hand.’ Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out demons. Freely you have received, freely give.” Hear and See!!
Matthew 24:14 “And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in all the world as a witness (With Evidence) to all the nations, and then the end will come.”
Acts 8:12-13 “But when they believed Philip as he preached the things concerning the kingdom of God and the name of Jesus Christ, … seeing the miracles and signs which were done.”
Acts 19:8-12 “… reasoning and persuading concerning the things of the kingdom of God. … Now God worked unusual miracles by the hands of Paul, so that even handkerchiefs or aprons were brought from his body to the sick, and the diseases left them and the evil spirits went out of them.”
1 Corinthians 4:20 “For the Kingdom of God is not in word (Logos) but in power (Dunamis).”
Martin Luther “If you don’t have anything worth dying for you haven’t lived.” Great reformer — Myconius Live!!!
In 1540 Myconius became sick and was expected to die within a short time. On his bed he wrote a loving farewell note to Luther with a trembling hand. Luther received the letter and sent back a reply: “I command thee in the name of God to live
Charles Wesley “I set myself on fire and people come and watch me burn.” Had to get people out of the trees before he preached.
The only difference between the French revolution and the English reformation was the preaching of John Wesley and the Methodists. (Study done by 19th Century French Sociologist)
Charles Finney (Revival Lectures) “…the primary cause of deception in surrendered believers may be condensed into one word, passivity;…Thus he falls into inertia which opens the way deception and invasion.”
“Finney preached that converts did not escape from life, but that they began a new life of interest in God’s Kingdom with no separate interests. ” (Tommy Reid)
Catherine Booth “If we are to better the future we must disturb the present.” Blood and Fire … beleivers were equipped and society was changed … Many Miracles … People placed in shelves until came to.
Max Lucado “Satan’s sliest agent is familiarity. His commission, clear and fatal, is to take nothing from his victim but to cause him only to take everything for granted.”
Gallop Poll – survey of 13000 people in 130 countries. Survey of people who used to go to church but no longer do. What would need to happen for you to return to church? #1 answer was: “Passion in the lives of the members and leaders.”
Romans 12:11(AMP) “Never lag in zeal and in earnest endeavor; be aglow and burning with the Spirit, serving the Lord.” Zeal:– Enthusiastic devotion to a cause, and tireless diligence in its furtherance. to be hot, to boil over.
