How did Moses become this bold deliverer of God’s people? 1. He Was Drawn From— Delivered From Harm
2. He Was Drawn Out— Discovered His Purpose 3.He Was Drawn In— Determined To Trust
Exodus 1:21-22 “And because the midwives feared God, he gave them families of their own. Then Pharaoh gave this order to all his people: ‘Throw every newborn Hebrew boy into the Nile River. But you may let the girls live.’”
Exodus 2:3-4“…she could no longer hide him, she got a basket made of papyrus reeds and waterproofed it with tar and pitch … laid it among the reeds along the bank of the Nile River. The baby’s sister then stood at a distance, watching to see …” Kept under the sink … dropped among the crocodiles

Wrong Timing Wrong Instrument Exodus 2:11-12 “And he saw an Egyptian beating a Hebrew, one of his brethren. So he looked this way and that way, and when he saw no one, he killed the Egyptian and hid him in the sand.”
40 years in the desert!
Exodus 3:1-4“Now Moses was tending the flock … And the Angel of the Lord appeared to him in a flame of fire from the midst of a bush. ‘I will now turn aside and see this great sight,’… So when the Lord saw that he turned aside to look, God called to him from the midst of the bush and said, ‘Moses, Moses!’”
Exodus 3 – 4:20“Who am I that I should go…”’ “What shall I say to them?” “What If they don’t believe Me?” “I am not eloquent,…” “Please send someone else.” EXCUSES!!!
“What is that in your hand?” “And Moses took the rod of God in his hand.”
God gave Moses Many “I will’s”:
I will be with you. Vs.12 I will bring you out. Vs. 17 I will stretch out my hand. Vs .20 I will give favour. Vs. 21
Presence / Power / Protection / Provision
A simple staff became an instrument of power and authority.
He Confronts Pharaoh
He Turns The Nile Into Blood
Red Sea Parts
Water from a rock
Victory over Amalekites
In your hand it has no eternal significance.
What’s happening while you cling to what is in your hand?
What’s happening while you devalue what’s in your hand?
Who or what awaits deliverance? Pride: It’s mine. Fear: I’m Not useful.
What If Moses had not surrendered his staff?
A nation remains in slavery Thousands die in bondage. Would have never heard of Moses
Staff would not become – “Rod Of God”
1 Peter 4:10 “As each one has received a gift, (SHAPE)minister it to one another, as good stewards of the manifold grace of God.”

You can’t do God authorized stuff without being identified with Him.

And the uncircumcised male child, who is not circumcised in the flesh of his foreskin, that person shall be cut off from his people; he has broken My covenant.”
Col 2:10-12“… are complete through your union with Christ, … you were “circumcised,” but not by a physical procedure. Christ performed a spiritual circumcision—the cutting away of your sinful nature … buried with Christ when you were baptized … raised to new life because you trusted the mighty power of God.”
