#363 1 John Series# 4, Surrounded and Free

The Bible was not written to you but it was written for you.
This was a personal letter written to very specific people 2000 years ago.
We must understand who wrote this letter, who it was written to and why it was written.
John was more poetic … Paul was more of a systematic straight line written … big run-on sentence

Jesus totally manifest God.
I have fully experienced Him.
You can have the same intimacy.

1 John 1:5“This is the message which we have heard from Him and declare to you, that God is light and in Him is no darkness at all.”
Two types of people: 1. In Light 2. In Darkness

Ephesians 5:18 “For you were once darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Walk as children of light.”
Colossians 1:13 “He has delivered us from the power of darkness and conveyed us into the kingdom of the Son of His love,”
He put you in … act of God … secure … you didn’t put yourself in and you can’t take your self out.

1 John 2:18-27
“Little children, it is the last hour; and as you have heard that the[a] Antichrist is coming, even now many antichrists have come, by which we know that it is the last hour. 19 They went out from us, but they were not of us; for if they had been of us, they would have continued with us; but they went out that they might be made manifest, that none of them were of us. 20 But you have an anointing from the Holy One, and you[b] know all things. 21 I have not written to you because you do not know the truth, but because you know it, and that no lie is of the truth. 22 Who is a liar but he who denies that Jesus is the Christ? He is antichrist who denies the Father and the Son. 23 Whoever denies the Son does not have the Father either; he who acknowledges the Son has the Father also. 24 Therefore let that abide in you which you heard from the beginning. If what you heard from the beginning abides in you, you also will abide in the Son and in the Father. 25 And this is the promise that He has promised us—eternal life. 26 These things I have written to you concerning those who try to [c]deceive you. 27 But the anointing which you have received from Him abides in you, and you do not need that anyone teach you; but as the same anointing teaches you concerning all things, and is true, and is not a lie, and just as it has taught you, you [d]will abide in Him.”

1 John3:24-4:6
Now he who keeps His commandments abides in Him, and He in him. And by this we know that He abides in us, by the Spirit whom He has given us.
Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits, whether they are of God; because many false prophets have gone out into the world. 2 By this you know the Spirit of God: Every spirit that confesses that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is of God, 3 and every spirit that does not confess [a]that Jesus [b]Christ has come in the flesh is not of God. And this is the spirit of the Antichrist, which you have heard was coming, and is now already in the world. 4 You are of God, little children, and have overcome them, because He who is in you is greater than he who is in the world. 5 They are of the world. Therefore they speak as of the world, and the world hears them. 6 We are of God. He who knows God hears us; he who is not of God does not hear us. By this we know the spirit of truth and the spirit of error.

Gnosticism:—the teaching that the spirit is entirely good and matter is entirely evil.
Two extremes of this dualism:
1. Ascetic teaching. You escape the evil realm through harsh treatment of your body. Secret Knowledge
2. Licentious teaching. Matter doesn’t matter. Do what you want in the flesh realm … unrelated to Spirit

Antichrists and False prophets:
1 John 2:22 “Who is a liar but he who denies that Jesus is the Christ? He is antichrist…”
1 John 4:4-6 “Many false prophets …and every spirit that does not confess that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is not of God. And this is the spirit of the Antichrist.

John 16:7
Nevertheless I tell you the truth. It is to your advantage that I go away; for if I do not go away, the Helper will not come to you; but if I depart, I will send Him to you.

John 16:12-15
“I still have many things to say to you, but you cannot bear them now. 13 However, when He, the Spirit of truth, has come, He will guide you into all truth; for He will not speak on His own authority, but whatever He hears He will speak; and He will tell you things to come. 14 He will glorify Me, for He will take of what is Mine and declare it to you. 15 All things that the Father has are Mine. Therefore I said that He [c]will take of Mine and declare it to you.”

2 Corinthians 1:21-22 “Now He who establishes us with you in Christ and has anointed us is God, who also has sealed us and given us the Spirit in our hearts as a guarantee.”

1 Corinthians 2:9-16
But as it is written: “Eye has not seen, nor ear heard, Nor have entered into the heart of man The things which God has prepared for those who love Him.” 10 But God has revealed them to us through His Spirit. For the Spirit searches all things, yes, the deep things of God. 11 For what man knows the things of a man except the spirit of the man which is in him? Even so no one knows the things of God except the Spirit of God. 12 Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from God, that we might know the things that have been freely given to us by God. 13 These things we also speak, not in words which man’s wisdom teaches but which the [d]Holy Spirit teaches, comparing spiritual things with spiritual. 14 But the natural man does not receive the things of the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him; nor can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned. 15 But he who is spiritual judges all things, yet he himself is rightly judged by no one. 16 For “who has known the mind of the Lord that he may instruct Him?” But we have the mind of Christ.

The Anointing
1 John 2:27 (AMP)“But as for you, the anointing (the sacred appointment, the unction) which you received from Him abides [permanently] in you;”

Anointing:– The person and power of Holy Spirit working through humanity to accomplish the or a divine purpose. The unction to function.

Jesus didn’t do any supernatural acts without the anointing.
Spirit “came upon Him” Lk 3:21-22 Spirit “led (drove) Him” Lk 4:1
Spirit “empowered Him” Lk 4:14 Spirit “anointed Him” Lk 4:18-21

Acts 10:38
“How God anointed Jesus of Nazarethwith the Holy Ghost and with power: who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with him.”

Acts 2:22
“Men of Israel, hear these words: Jesus of Nazareth,a Man attested by God to youby miracles, wonders, and signs which God did through Him in your midst, as you yourselves also know—…”

John 14:12
“I assure you, most solemnly I tell you, if anyone steadfastly believes in Me, he will himself be able to do the things that I do; and he will do even greater things than these, because I go to the Father.”
What happens when He goes to the Father … send Holy Ghost!

Luke 24:49“Behold, I send the Promise of My Father upon you; but tarry in the city of Jerusalem until you are endued with power from on high.” Acts 1:8“But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you;…”

Power:– {dunamis} inherent power, power residing in a thing by virtue of its nature, explosive
Power to produce 5 things:
1. Miracles 2. Morality 3. Money 4. Multiplication 5. Movement

Anointed are divinely advantaged.
The anointing is tangible. The anointing flows. The anointing can be stored.
The anointing is to be released into the affairs of earth to manifest the rule of the Kingdom.

1 John 4:17“…because as he is, so are we in this world.”
How is He right now?
He is reigning and ruling.
He is seated and victorious.
