282 YES Series# 1, You Must Have A Dream!

2 Corinthians 1-20 NIV  “For no matter how many promises God has made, they are “Yes” in Christ. And so through him the “Amen” is spoken by us to the glory of God”

2 Peter 3:9 “The Lord is not slack concerning His promise, … not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance.” “willing” (Boulomai):— to will deliberately, have a purpose, be minded, of willing as an affection, to desire

Genesis 1:28  “Then God blessed them, and God said to them, ‘Be fruitful and multiply; fill the earth and subdue it; have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over every living thing that moves on the earth.ʼ”

Numbers 14:21 “…but truly, as I live, all the earth shall be filled with the glory of the Lord”
Habakkuk 2:14 “For the earth will be filled With the knowledge of the glory of the Lord, As the waters cover the sea.”

Isaiah 6:3 “Holy, holy, holy is the Lord of hosts; The whole earth is full of His glory!”
The Dream (Vision) Of God  The whole earth full of His glory!

Jesus Aligned Himself With The Desire Of The Father.
John 4-34  “Jesus said to them, ‘My food is to do the will of Him who sent Me, and to finish His work.ʼ”

Ephesians 3:20-21  “Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think (Dream / Imagine), according to the power that works in us, to Him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus to all generations, forever and ever. Amen.”

Ephesians 5:15-17 (NIV)  “Be very careful, then, how you live—not as unwise but as wise, making the most of every opportunity,because the days are evil. Therefore do not be foolish, but understand what the Lordʼs will is.”

Two Basic Parts To Understanding Godʼs Will.
1. The Will Of God That Belongs Exclusively To Himself.
His Sovereign, Absolute or Determinative Will

Isaiah 46:9-10
“For I am God, and there is no other; I am God, and there is none like Me,Declaring the end from the beginning, And from ancient times things that are not yet done, Saying, ‘My counsel shall stand, And I will do all My pleasure,ʼ”

Daniel 4:34-35
“For His dominion is an everlasting dominion, And His kingdom is from generation to generation. All the inhabitants of the earth are reputed as nothing;…”
“…He does according to His will in the army of heaven And among the inhabitants of the earth.
No one can restrain His hand
Or say to Him, ‘What have You done?ʼ”

Psalm 135:6
“Whatever the Lord pleases He does, In heaven and in earth, In the seas and in all deep places.”
2. The Will Of God As It Relates To Mankind. Two basic parts:
a. Moral Choices ShouldI lie — Should I steal
b. Non-Moral Choices Should I be a plumber — Should I be a nurse

Psalm 115-16
“The heaven, even the heavens, are the Lordʼs; But the earth He has given to the children of men.”

You can unmistakably know the will of God for your life!
God works nothing that is specific to your life without your involvement.

God has an amazing plan for your life.
Jeremiah 29-11  “For I know the plans I have for you,” says the Lord. “They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope.”

A dreamless life is a dangerous thing!
Donʼt be a dreamer be possessed by a dream.
No hope in the future means no power in the present.

Genesis 37-5  “Now Joseph had a dream, and he told it to his brothers; and they hated him even more.”
You must have a dream!

5 Things A Dream Will Do:

1. Distinguish You
People who are possessed by a dream stand out.
Colonel Sanders  Thomas Edison   Wilbur and Orville Wright  Dick Fosbury

2. Release Your Potential
Genesis 15-5  “Then He brought him outside and said, ‘Look now toward heaven, and count the stars if you are able to number them.ʼ” Some species of fish are limited by the aquarium size.

3. Energizes You
Acts 26-19 “Therefore, King Agrippa, I was not disobedient to the heavenly vision,…”
People pursuing a dream are exciting to be around.

4. Attitude Alignment
Philippians 4-13 “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” Mission Control — “Columbia, your attitude is perfect.” You breakthrough resistance. You enter new realms.

5. Motivate You
1 Samuel 17-36, 48 “Your servant has killed both lion and bear; and this uncircumcised Philistine will be like one of them … David hurried and ran toward the army to meet the Philistine. ”
Germany Experiment: Rats that had to pursue food lived longer.
