270 W.I.J.D. Series# 5, FREEDOM

We can’t talk about W.I.J.D. without talking about demons.
1 John 3:8 “For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that He might destroy the works of the devil.”

Luke 4:18  “The Spirit of the Lord is upon Me, Because He has anointed Me To preach the gospel to the poor; He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted, To proclaim liberty to the captives And recovery of sight to the blind, To set at liberty those who are oppressed;”

Acts 10:38   “… how God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power, who went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, for God was with Him.”

61x’s Gospels Jesus is dealing with devils.

We have a mandate: Mark 16:17   “And these signs will follow those who believe: In My name they will cast out demons; they will speak with new tongues;”

Mark 5:1-20
Then they came to the other side of the sea, to the country of the Gadarenes.[a] 2 And when He had come out of the boat, immediately there met Him out of the tombs a man with an unclean spirit, 3 who had his dwelling among the tombs; and no one could bind him,[b] not even with chains, 4 because he had often been bound with shackles and chains. And the chains had been pulled apart by him, and the shackles broken in pieces; neither could anyone tame him. 5 And always, night and day, he was in the mountains and in the tombs, crying out and cutting himself with stones.
6 When he saw Jesus from afar, he ran and worshiped Him. 7 And he cried out with a loud voice and said, “What have I to do with You, Jesus, Son of the Most High God? I implore You by God that You do not torment me.”
8 For He said to him, “Come out of the man, unclean spirit!” 9 Then He asked him, “What is your name?”
And he answered, saying, “My name is Legion; for we are many.” (6000 Soldiers)10 Also he begged Him earnestly that He would not send them out of the country.
11 Now a large herd of swine was feeding there near the mountains. 12 So all the demons begged Him, saying, “Send us to the swine, that we may enter them.” 13 And at once Jesus[c] gave them permission. Then the unclean spirits went out and entered the swine (there were about two thousand); and the herd ran violently down the steep place into the sea, and drowned in the sea.
14 So those who fed the swine fled, and they told it in the city and in the country. And they went out to see what it was that had happened. 15 Then they came to Jesus, and saw the one who had been demon-possessed and had the legion, sitting and clothed and in his right mind. And they were afraid. 16 And those who saw it told them how it happened to him who had been demon-possessed, and about the swine. 17 Then they began to plead with Him to depart from their region.
18 And when He got into the boat, he who had been demon-possessed begged Him that he might be with Him. 19 However, Jesus did not permit him, but said to him, “Go home to your friends, and tell them what great things the Lord has done for you, and how He has had compassion on you.” 20 And he departed and began to proclaim in Decapolis all that Jesus had done for him; and all marveled.

Mark 1:39   “And He was preaching in their synagogues throughout all Galilee, and casting out demons.”
Luke 11:14  “And He was casting out a demon, and it was mute. So it was, when the demon had gone out, that the mute spoke; and the multitudes  marveled.”

Matthew 8:16   “When evening had come, they brought to Him many who were demon-possessed. And He cast out the spirits with a word, and healed all who were sick,…”

Matthew 10:1, 8 “And when He had called His twelve disciples to Him, He gave them power over unclean spirits, to cast them out, and to heal all kinds of sickness and all kinds of disease. … Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out demons. Freely you have received, freely give.” 

Let’s Cover These Four Things: 1.There are demons 2. They really can influence us 3. Jesus has set us free     4. Our most effective weapon

We need both: Discipleship and Deliverance. 

Matthew 12:22  “Then one was brought to Him who was demon-possessed, blind and mute; and He healed him, so that the blind and mute man both spoke and saw.”
Daimonizomai:– to have or be vexed by a demon. Does not denote ownership.

Can light dwell with darkness?
2 Corinthians 6:14 “And what communion has light with darkness?”
2 Corinthians 5:17 “…new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.”

Ephesians 5:8 “For you were once darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Walk as children of light.”
Ephesians 4:27 “…nor give place to the devil.”
topos:– place, any portion or space marked off,opportunity, power, occasion for acting.

Buick commercial … “Did you lock the car?” Locks car with app.
“Did you close the windows? Pigeons have filled the apartment.  Pigeons don’t own the apartment but they have moved in and will influence things until removed.                 

3 Pronged Attack Of Enemy: Deception – lies vain imaginations. Temptation – follows deception.
Accusation – rubs it in your face.
Ephesians 6:11 “…take your stand against the devil’s schemes”
“Methodeia”:— to journey  behind, to study, craft.  The evil studies you for weakness that can become bondage!!!

John 8:32 “And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.”
It is not a power struggle. It is primarily a truth struggle. 

Luke 13:10-13, 16 “But when Jesus saw her, He called her to Him and said to her, ‘Woman, you are loosed from your infirmity.’ And He laid His hands on her, and immediately she was made straight, and glorified God. … So ought not this woman, being a daughter of Abraham, whom Satan has bound …for eighteen years, be loosed from this bond on the Sabbath?”   LEGAL EXPERT … YOU OUGT TO BE FREE!!!

John 8:36 “Therefore if the Son makes you free, you shall be free indeed.”
Galatians 5:1  “So Christ has truly set us free. Now make sure that you stay free, and don’t get tied up again in slavery to the law.” 

Good News!!!   If you are experiencing any form of bondage … Jesus sets you completely free!!! 

Luke 10:17-20 “Then the seventy returned with joy, saying, “Lord, even the demons are subject to us in Your name.” And He said to them, “I saw Satan fall like lightning from heaven. Behold, I give you the authority to trample on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall by any means hurt you.” 

Best method of Deliverance Ministry!!!

1 John 4:18

Our most powerful weapon against the enemy … LOVE!!! 

Ephesians 4:15  “Instead, we will speak the truth in love, growing in every way more and more like Christ, who is the head of his body, the church.” 

Galatians 5:6  “The only thing that counts is faith expressing itself through love.” 

Grandmother and granddaughter … Up on Grosvenor … Just hugged her and said Jesus!!!

Brothers embraced me … I went limp … disembodied voice … what happened?

Never minister without the motivation of love … not some power trip … PEOPLE who want dignity and freedom!!!
