Genesis 2:15  “Then the Lord God took the man and put him in the garden of Eden to tend (serve) and keep (guard) it.”  God created us to work.   Work is given as a gift.    Work is meant to be a blessing.

Workmanship Poiema (poy’-ay-mah) :— is made or done; a work, workmanship, creation.

Ephesians 4:11-13  “… He Himself gave … apostles, some prophets, some evangelists, and some pastors and teachers, for the equipping of the saints for the work of ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ, till we all come to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to a perfect man, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ;”

The revelation of salvation is that Jesus is King and Lord.
The revelation of Kingdom is that He is King of kings and Lord of lords.

This reformation is the equipping and releasing of saints into their mountain — changing nations.

In 1975, Bill Bright, founder of Campus Crusade, and Loren Cunningham, founder of Youth With a Mission, had lunch together in Colorado. God simultaneously gave each of these change agents a message to give to the other. During that same time frame Francis Schaeffer was given a similar message.

That message was that if we are to impact any nation for Jesus Christ, then we would have to affect the seven spheres, or mountains of society that are the pillars of any society. These seven mountains are business, government, media, arts and entertainment, education, the family and religion.

In essence, God was telling these three change agents where the battlefield was. It was here where culture would be won or lost. Their assignment was to raise up change agents to scale the mountains and to help a new generation of change agents understand the larger story.

Isaiah 2:2  “Now it shall come to pass in the latter days That the mountain of the LORD’s house Shall be established on the top of the mountains, And shall be exalted above the hills; And all nations shall flow to it.”

We are carries of His GLORY!!!

Habakkuk 2:14  “For the earth will be filled With the knowledge of the glory of the Lord, As the waters cover the sea.”

Uzziah (My Strength is God) was raised by his father Amaziah (Jehovah is mighty) and his mother Jecholiah (Jehovah is able).

1. Elath — Financial Success  Influence Realm of Business   This was a key port city. This was a place of trade and world influence. Jehovah Jireh wants us to prosper in this area.

Gath — Seat Of Reason Influence Realm Of Education
Goliath’s home town. Place of intimidation. Be reasonable We are called to confront human impossibilities.

We are not mere humans. We are called to live out of the glory.  We are not mere humans.  We are called to live out of the glory.

Jabneh — Satanic Harassment Influence The Realm Of Media
:– built by the powerful; to twist.
The media. They always want to tell us what is really going on. We must influence this place with truth.

Holy Spirit will lead us into all truth.

Ashdod — Idolatry and Prostitution Influence Realm Of The Arts
:— powerful, to ruin and destroy
We are being constantly challenged with the new normal. We must be in the conversation and be Spirit led.

Gurbaal — Seat Of Government Influence Realm Of Government Place of law and philosophy.

Place where men reasoned together. Man exalts himself above God.
We will in our own wisdom establish the rule of man.

Mehunims — High Deception Influence Realm Of Religion
People of the high mountains.
They deceived and misled many in Israel. Sensual ministries that have abandoned the truth. New Age – Spiritualism

Ammonites — Relational Conflict Influence The Realm Of Family
Descendants of lot’s youngest son.
They always joined others in their attacks on Israel. Unresolved offense.
The attack on the family unit today.

This is not time to escape … this is time to engage in God’s redemptive purpose.

Help! I still hate my job!

3. Discipleship — What is working on me while I am working at my craft.

Basic Expectations:

4. Actualization … Impact

When these are not met people often feel stuck. I hate my job! I hate Monday!

Work Dissatisfaction Leads To:
Being Disappointed
Overlooked unappreciated failed
Being Disengaged
Gallop 2013 – 70% disengaged
Being Driven

Consumed,  Idolatry  86% working more than 40 hrs and taking less vacation time.

What if you are among the 70-80% who are sincerely dissatisfied with their job?

What about the gap between the now and the “not yet”?

Joseph – Gen 37 to 48: Anointed future (dream) maintains hope from 17 years to 35-40 years old (15-20 year gap) Gen 39: Potiphar Gen 40: imprisoned but gifted Gen 41 – restored because of the gifting

Between the events in Genesis 37 and Genesis 45 a number of years have passed, likely about 15 years or more. During this time Joseph remained faithful to God and trust God during the good and bad times. God helped him to be such a good, loyal, honest and reliable slave that Potiphar trusted Joseph to be his top servant supervising all of his other household servants and Potiphar’s finances. Soon after this Potiphar’s wife tried to tempted Joseph to go to bed with her but he refused. Potiphar’s wife then lied and falsely accused Joseph of trying to rape her. Potiphar thus sent him to prison.

Joseph continued to trust God in prison and again Joseph’s honest character resulted to being promoted to the top prisoner being able to supervisor the other prisoners. During that time God gave him the ability to interpret the dreams of some of the other prisoners who had been servants (slaves) of Pharaoh the ruler in Egypt. Joseph’s predictions came true and one of these servants was restored to his previous position with Pharaoh. Later when Pharaoh has two dreams that no one could interpret for him, The same servant who had meet Joseph in prison suggest that Joseph could interpret dreams. Thus God gave Joseph the ability to interpret Pharaoh’s dreams. Joseph thus was able to predict that there would be seven years of good harvests followed by seven years of famine. Pharaoh thus gave Joseph the second highest position in Egypt’s government. In present day terms, Joseph became the Minister of Finance, Agriculture and Trade to prepare for the future famine that was coming.

How then shall we live? What do I do now?

Wrong job, wrong career path, dishonest people, wrong background, no skills?

God has the answer – your destiny will not be denied!

You are destined for glory!

Be who you were called to be –

Josh 1:9 Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous! Do not be terrified or dismayed (intimidated), for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.” [Boldness!]

Jer 1: 5 “Before I formed you in the womb I knew you [and approved of you as My chosen instrument], And before you were born I consecrated you [to Myself as My own]; I have appointed you as a prophet to the nations.” [Gifting!]

Matthew 5:13-16 “You are the salt of the earth; “You are the light of [Christ to] the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden; nor does anyone light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a lampstand, and it gives light to all who are in the house. …[Godly influence!]

Ecclesiastes 11:4 He who watches the wind [waiting for all conditions to be perfect] will not sow [seed], and he who looks at the clouds will not reap [a harvest].

Most of us confuse God’s due season with our due date. You have to realize that. Many women when they are going to deliver a child, often they’ll say “They have gone over their due date”. They haven’t gone over their due date; it was just an incorrect assessment of their due date. The baby is coming right when God appointed.

And that is just like the promises of God in the natural. We think “It is too late, I am too old, it can’t happen…” because we look at the natural world timeline as if somehow we are not going to live for eternity, we are just going to live for time.

You and I are not the product of time, we are the product of eternity. God has plucked us out of eternity and positioned us in time and He has given us gifts and talents for the purpose of serving our generation. We are not limited to time.
