#186 A Mind Set Free

John 8:32 “And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.”

John 8:36 “Therefore if the Son makes you free, you shall be free indeed.”

Galatians 5:1 (AMP) “In [this] freedom Christ has made us free [and completely liberated us]; stand fast then, and do not be hampered and held ensnared and submit again to a yoke of slavery [which you have once put off].”
(NLT ) “Now make sure that you stay free…”

Jesus didn’t come to just give us eternal life He came to give us victorious life.
The devil took mankind captivee with a lie. “Has God indeed said… (Genesis 3:1)”
Before the devil defeats you he must disarm you. Calls into question the integrity of God’s word.

John 19:17 “And He, bearing His cross, went out to a place called the Place of a Skull, which is called in Hebrew, Golgotha, where they crucified Him, …”

Evil Stronghold:– Demonically induced and possibly controlled pattern of thinking. A dwelling place that I have created or allowed to exist, which gives ground for demonic influence.
2 Corinthians 4:4 “Satan, the god of this evil world, has blinded the minds of those who don’t believe,…”

Stronghold:– Thought patterns that govern behaviour.
Repeat the pattern and the rut gets deeper until you develop seemingly uncontrollable behaviour.

Think your way out of anything … Mind of Christ!!!

Romans 12:2
“And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.”

3 Keys To A Strong Free Mind
1. The mind Is The Battlefield

2 Corinthians 10:4-5
“…weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds, casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ,”

Any thought nit taken captive can take you captive.
Thoughts not taken captive have you captive now.
Captivity (Aichmalotizo) :— To lead away at spear point
Obedience (Hupakoe):— Listen and under, subject to, compliance

Any bondage is a house of thoughts.
Fear – Anger – Addiction – Lust
The circumstance, behaviour or substance is not your problem.
The way you think is the problem.
You decide what you think and what you think shapes your world.

ILLUS: Little boy throwing ball up … “Best Batter!!!” Strike three … “I’m the best pitcher.”
James 4:7
 “Therefore submit to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you.”
You have to put every thought to the spear point and bring it under subjection to the mind of Christ.
A spiritual battle … MIND … You can’t do a little fleshly thinking and manipulating … this is spiritual!

2. God’s Word A Spiritual Weapon
Hebrews 4:12
“For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.”

Ephesians 6:10-17
Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might. 11 Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. 12 For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age,[c] against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places. 13 Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.
14 Stand therefore, having girded your waist with truth, having put on the breastplate of righteousness, 15 and having shod your feet with the preparation of the gospel of peace; 16 above all, taking the shield of faith with which you will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one. 17 And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God;

Belt is where you hang your sword.
Waist is where we recreate and we eliminate.
Fixed in the Word: Produce truth – Remove error. Fixed in the world: Remove truth – Produce error.

You read other books but God’s Word reads you.
James 1:22-25 22 But be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves. 23 For if anyone is a hearer of the word and not a doer, he is like a man observing his natural face in a mirror; 24 for he observes himself, goes away, and immediately forgets what kind of man he was. 25 But he who looks into the perfect law of liberty and continues in it, and is not a forgetful hearer but a doer of the work, this one will be blessed in what he does.

3. Bible Meditation Brings Victory
Joshua 1:8 “This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate in it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success.”

Four times the enemy attacks you.
Four times you should meditate.
Deuteronomy 6:6-7 “And these words which I command you today shall be in your heart. You shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, when you walk by the way, when you lie down, and when you rise up.”

No Word in your spirit and you won’t have powerful thoughts.
Replace a destructive thought with a more powerful thought. PINK ELEPHANT BLUE FROG
Your hardware is your brain. Your software is the Word of God.
The Word of God reprograms your brain and it has a built in virus removal program.

You are the gatekeeper of your mind. The devil can’t think for you and God can’t think for you.
You decide what will dominate your mind. Your thoughts determine your life.
2 Corinthians 2:16 “But we have the mind of Christ.”
