#172 Be The Kingdom
John 15:5, 16
“I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing … appointed you that you should go and bear fruit, and that your fruit should remain, …”
No genuine change apart from Him!
Be The Change
Be The Kingdom
Tell Them To Do One Thing This Year
Acts 1:8 (NKJV)
“But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me”
Acts 1:8 (The Message)
“What you’ll get is the Holy Spirit. And when the Holy Spirit comes on you, you will be able to be my witnesses … even to the ends of the world.”
Act 10:38-39
“…how God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power, who went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, for God was with Him. And we are witnesses of all things which He did…”
Look what God can do with a man smeared with the Holy Ghost … Heaven Invades Earth
When Jesus was anointed he was a noticeably different man.
Luke 4:29 “…and they led Him to the brow of the hill on which their city was built, that they might throw Him down over the cliff.”
Mark 3:20-21,31 “When his family heard about this, they went to take charge of him, for they said, ‘He is out of his mind.’”
Matthew 8:27 “The men were amazed and asked, ‘What kind of man is this? Even the winds and the waves obey him!’”
There is something distinctly different about Him!
Jesus didn’t come to be my moral example. Jesus came to be the Lord and Saviour.
Luke 3:16 “One mightier than I is coming, whose sandal strap I am not worthy to loose. He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and fire.”
Acts 11:20-26
“…spoke to the Hellenists, (Greeks) preaching the Lord Jesus. And the hand of the Lord was with them, and a great number believed and turned to the Lord …When he came and had seen the grace of God, … And the disciples were first called Christians in Antioch.”
Christians:- (Christianos) little Christs — That’s the whole purpose … get His glory to fill the earth through all these anointed ones.
Anointing:– The person and power of Holy Spirit working through humanity to accomplish the or a divine purpose.
1John 2:27 (AMP) “But as for you, the anointing (the sacred appointment, the unction) which you received from Him abides [permanently] in you;”
Matthew 11:28-30
“Are you tired? Worn out? Burned out on religion? Come to me. Get away with me and you’ll recover your life. I’ll show you how to take a real rest. Walk with me and work with me—watch how I do it. Learn the unforced rhythms of grace. I won’t lay anything heavy or ill-fitting on you. Keep company with me and you’ll learn to live freely and lightly.”
Galatians 5:25 “If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit.”
Romans 8:14 “For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God.”
There is a place called in the spirit: as a believer you must operate in another realm.
No other environment will be fruitful. Walk, Pray, Worship, Live in Spirit
Saul is an example of how not to finish.
Anointed Start
1 Samuel 10:6-11
“Then the Spirit of the Lord will come upon you mightily…”
Carnal Failure
1 Samuel 13:13
“…foolishly! You have not kept the commandment of the Lord …the Lord would have established your kingdom over Israel forever;…”
Tragic End
2 Samuel 1:21
“…For there the shield of the mighty was defiled, the shield of Saul, as though he were not anointed with oil.”
This apparent unanointed conclusion to his life was not God’s Plan.
1Samuel 15:35
“Until the day Samuel died, he did not go to see Saul again, though Samuel mourned for him. And the LORD was grieved that he had made Saul king over Israel.”
Ephesians 4:30
“And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, by whom you were sealed for the day of redemption.”
7 Actions That Quench the flow of the Spirit in you life.
1. Insecurity
1Samuel 13:3-4
“Jonathan attacked the Philistine outpost,…Saul had the trumpet blown throughout the land and said, So all Israel heard the news: “Saul has attacked the Philistine outpost,…”
1 Samuel 18:7-9 “…Saul [jealously] eyed David…”
2. Fleshly Dependence
1Sa. 13:8-14
“…and the people were scattered from him…I forced myself therefore, and offered a burnt offering.”
Could not wait on God. Had to take matters in his own hands.
3. Compromise
1 Sa. 15:9
“But Saul and the people spared Agag, and the best of the sheep, and of the oxen, and of the fatlings, and the lambs, and all that was good, and would not utterly destroy them:…”
Agag was a descendant of Amalek and is a type of the flesh. It must be utterly destroyed. Don’t compromise with the flesh!
4. Presumption
1 Sa. 15:15
“…for the people spared the best of the sheep and of the oxen, to sacrifice unto the LORD thy God; and the rest we have utterly destroyed.”
Saul thought of a better way to Obey God.
Giving God what He didn’t ask for.
5. Fear Of Man
1Sa. 15:17, 30
“When thou wast little in thine own sight, wast thou not made the head of the tribes of Israel, and the LORD anointed thee king over Israel?”
“…before the elders of my people, and before Israel, and turn again with me,…”
He was more concerned about how he looked before the people.
6. Refusal To Change
1Sa. 15:19-21
“Why haven’t you obeyed the Lord? Why did you rush for the plunder and do what was evil in the Lord’s sight?”
“But I did obey the Lord,” Saul insisted. “I carried out the mission he gave me. I brought back King Agag, but I destroyed everyone else.”
His customized his obedience to suit himself.
Proverbs 1:23 “Turn you at my reproof: behold, I will pour out my spirit unto you,…”
Do what He says and walk in the blessing!
7. Total Rebellion
1Sa. 15:22-23
“For rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft, …stubbornness…is as… idolatry…thou hast rejected the word of the LORD, he hath also rejected thee from being king.”
1 Samuel 28:7 “Seek me a woman that hath a familiar spirit,…” Getting guidance from a witch
