“..the glory of the King that seeks for the word.”
Prov. 25:2 ABPE
The instructions of the LORD are perfect, reviving the soul. The decrees of the LORD are trustworthy, making wise the simple. Ps.19:7
“God’s way is perfect. All the LORD’s promises prove true… 2 Sam. 22:21
Unfortunately there are a few misunderstands. None of them errors by God but man.
Reasons:
-etymology,
-internal structure,
-old mistranslations,
-misunderstood metaphors,
God chooses to uses man. Man is not without flaws.
It used word Pictures to express meanings.
It is our responsibility to explore the truth.
“But as for you, Daniel, conceal these words and seal up the book until the end of time; many will go back and forth, and knowledge will increase.”
Daniel 12:4
Case studies:
Mathew 1:1 Who’s your daddy?
Why is there only 41 generations and not 42?
14 from Abraham to David.
14 from David to The Babylonian n exile.
14 form the Babylonian exile to Jesus.
Do we count David twice? That reasoning would mean you count Jeconiah twice making 43 generations.
We know that Matthew 1:19 clearly refers to Joseph as the “husband” (bala Aramaic) of Mary because it speaks of Joseph thinking of divorcing her.
Matthew 1:19 “Because Joseph her husband was a righteous man and did not want to expose her to public disgrace, he had in mind to divorce her quietly.”
In the Greek text, Matthew 1:16 and 19 both contain the same word, aner (“man” or “husband”), but the Aramaic text has two different words, and thus makes a distinction between the two men.
In Matthew 1:16, the Aramaic word is gavra, which means “mighty man,” “father,” or “husband,” while in Matthew 1:19 the word is bala, which is “man” or “husband. Thus, the Aramaic text preserves the truth that there is a difference between the Joseph of verse 16, the “mighty man” of Mary, and the Joseph of verse 19, the “husband” of Mary.
Mary’s father is Joseph ben Jacob Matt 1
Mary’s husband is Joseph ben Eli Luke 3
Ancestral line is through Joseph that’s why they went to Bethlehem during census.
Royal line is biologically through Mary not Joseph.
Fulfillment of prophecy
The scepter shall not depart from Judah, nor the ruler’s staff from between his feet, until tribute comes to him Gen 49:10
It could not come from Joseph or the line would stop at him.
Joesph did not come from the line on Kings. His lineage from Nathan (Luke 3:23)
And you get 42 generations
What you talk’n bout Jesus?
23 Then spake Jesus to the multitude, and to his disciples, 2 saying, The scribes and the Pharisees sit in Moses’ seat: 3 all therefore whatsoever they bid you observe, that observe and do; but do not ye after their works: for they say, and do not. 4 For they bind heavy burdens and grievous to be borne, and lay them on men’s shoulders; but they themselves will not move them with one of their fingers. 5 But all their works they do for to be seen of men: they make broad their phylacteries, and enlarge the borders of their garments, 6 and love the uppermost rooms at feasts, and the chief seats in the synagogues, 7 and greetings in the markets, and to be called of men, Rabbi, Rabbi.
We know Jesus is not saying to listen to everything THEY say
• beware of the LEAVEN of the Pharisees and of the Sadducees” (Matt.16:6).
• he was not talking about physical bread, but their TEACHING!
• Peter and the other apostles answered and said,
• We ought to OBEY GOD rather than men” (Acts 5:27-29)
• Jesus, in his rebuke of Pharisaical traditions of men, compared the deeds and reforms of the Pharisees and Scribes with the deeds and reforms of the Samaritans in 2 Kings 17:34, adding even further scholarly weight to Shem Tob’s version of Matthew 23:1-2.
What was he saying? 3 keys to explore
Moses Seat
Exodus 18.13 “And it came to pass on the morrow, that Moses SAT
DO MAKE THEM KNOW THE STATUTES OF GOD, AND HIS LAWS
Moses seat:
• Place of authority to teach and judge according to Gods laws.
• Traditionally kept in front of the synagogue open for the messiah to sit. Just like the open seat at Passover for Elijah.
• Despite some arguments, the Pharisees did actually sit lest they make false claims.of being the messiah.
Sit
Idiom of sitting.. 1 kings 2:12
Then sat Solomon upon the throne of David his father, and his Kingdom was established greatly.
Better transalated:
“have seated themselves in chair of Moses..” New American Standard.
Who is they?
Hebrew Mathew.

“Then Jesus spoke to the people and to his disciples
saying, Upon the seat of Moses the Pharisees and the sages sit.
Now all which said (singular) to you keep and do; but (according to) their
ordinances and deeds do not do because they say and do not.”
“Then Jesus spoke to the people and to his disciples
saying, Upon the seat of Moses the Pharisees and the sages sit.
Now all which (yomer {singular} said He ) to you keep and do; but (according to) their
ordinances and deeds do not do because they say and do not.”
“kol shehem omrim” – that is, “all that they say.” (omrim – plural)
Let’s look at it again:
Pharisees and the sages have seated themselves (figuratively) on the seat of Moses. Now all which he said to you keep and do; but their ordinances (takanote – man made laws that can superceed or break the written law designed to promote and establish Pharacidical and Rabbinic authority) and deeds (ma’asim) do not do because they say and do not.
Where is this in the old testament?
Matthew 2:23 (ESV) “ And he went and lived in a city called (A)Nazareth, (B)so that what was spoken by the prophets might be fulfilled, that he would be called a Nazarene.”
Where is this found? It’s NOT in the OT
To unravel this we have to first look at prophecy:
“Behold, the days are coming,” declares the LORD, “When I will raise up for David a righteous Branch; And He will reign as king and act wisely And do justice and righteousness in the land.
Jer. 23:5
..I am going to bring in My servant the Branch.
Zechariah 3:8
Behold, the man whose name is the Branch: and he shall grow up out of his place; and he shall build the temple of Jehovah;
Zec 6:12 2 In that day shall the Branch of Jehovah be beautiful and glorious… the Lord shall have washed away the filth of the daughters of Zion, and shall have purged the blood of Jerusalem
Isa. 4:2-4
15 In those days, and at that time, will I cause the Branch of righteousness to grow up unto David; and he shall execute judgment and righteousness in the land.
Jer. 33:15 This the key scripture which tells us which type of branch.
11 And there shall come forth a shoot (choter-living shoot) out of the stock (Geza – cut down truck) of Jesse, and a Branch out of his roots shall bear fruit.
2 And the Spirit of Jehovah shall rest upon him, the spirit of wisdom and understanding, the spirit of counsel and might, the spirit of knowledge and of the fear of Jehovah.
Isa. 11:1
Isaiah clues us into what type of branch the prophets are talking about.
(Netzer!! Olive tree!)
Now we look ar History – David descendants.
Antiochus IV Epimames (“The Madman”)
175 BCE Antiochus came into power. Greco-syria emporer.
• forbidden practices were the rite of
• circumcision,
• the study of Torah,
• keeping of kashrut (Jewish dietary laws).
• Sabath
• Temple Worship
• Killing of males who were circumsized
• Elling women and children into slavery.
In the Jews’s Holy Temple, he placed a statue of Zeus–the god he believed was manifest in his own royal being–and sacrificed swine on the altar. He stripped the Temple of its sacred vessels, including the seven-branched golden menorah, and stole the silver and gold coin
• In all wars, the residents are dispersed.
• Descendants of David knowing the prophecies of the Branch moved to the “region of Gentiles” Galilee to escape Antiochus
• These desendats were called Netzers THEY KNEW THE MESSIAH WOULD COME FROM THEIR LINE!!
• Establish Netzeret “Branch Town”
• (Upon further examination of the netzer prophecy it becomes clear that Messiah is also the root)
BRANCH = NZR (Netzer)
NZR =( Netzer) a shoot growing out of the original root system of an olive tree
Hebrew: נָצְרַת, Natz’rat
Natz’rat; Arabic
Netzer(et) feminine ending, designated by the letter Tav
Naṣ’rath in Biblical Hebrew) ( NAZARETH)
The branch is (נֵצֶר) Netzer. Jesus was from Natzeret (נָצְרַת) Netzeret (tav added)
Nateret
Nazareth
23 And he went and lived in a city called (A)Netzeret, (B)so that what was spoken by the prophets might be fulfilled, that he would be called a Netzer
